Series Summary
"Philharmonia" is a French drama television series that premiered on France 2 in 2019. The show revolves around the world of classical music and follows the newly appointed conductor of the Philharmonia orchestra, Hélène Barizet, as she tries to bring the struggling orchestra back to its former glory.
Hélène must navigate the politics and egos of the orchestra's musicians and the board of directors while balancing her personal life, including her estranged husband and teenage daughter. As the series progresses, secrets are revealed, and tensions rise, leading to unexpected twists and turns.
The series stars Marie-Sophie Ferdane as Hélène, as well as Lina El Arabi, Tomer Sisley, and Laurent Bateau, among others. "Philharmonia" has been praised for its beautiful cinematography, excellent music, and strong performances.
The series was created by Marine Gacem and produced by French production company, Merlin Productions. The first season consists of six episodes, each running approximately 50 minutes long. At this time, it is unclear if the series will be renewed for a second season.
